A graduate from the famous French photos School Louis Lumière, Philippe Giraud is 20 years old when he provides his first photo-reportage on his own name to Liberation and Paris-Match. He then worked for Gamma, and Sygma agencies, and his images used to be printed on covers and pages of many magazines: Geo, L'Express, Le Nouvel Observateur, VSD, etc.
He stayed for a long time in French Guiana and West Indies, where his cyclones pictures got noticed. In 1993, he decided to move to Touraine (France), in a place he renamed "The Icon valley".
Philippe split his time between his family, his animal park and his reportages, which regularly call him throughout the world, to cover an event (like the "Route du Rhum”, the famous transatlantic single-handed yacht race), to tell us the daily life of men and women in Bangkok, Saigon, Pointe-à-Pitre or Dubrovnik, or simply to capture the beauty of landscapes, everywhere he can satisfy his travel image passion.
